Thanks for taking the first step in wanting to write for Don’t Be A Pixel – Being interested in doing it.
Obviously, that’s not all it takes to write for the site. Even if I make it look like that’s the case. No, if you want to write for the site, you’ll also need an idea, words to express the idea, and a way to type up those words so we can read them.
Yes, what I’m basically saying here is ‘If you have an idea for something you’d like to see on the site or something you’d like to write about games, then go ahead, write it, send it in to us at email@example.com and we’ll see what we can do with it.’
Even if you don’t think you’re much of a writer, we want you to go ahead and do it. An editor can help tighten up what you say with your help, but an editor can’t steal your brain and your ideas to write the pieces that you would with the perspective you may have. And trust me, Don’t Be A Pixel is all about getting as many ideas and perspectives together as we can.
On top of that, where we can with the finance we have, we like to ensure our writers get paid. After we’ve paid off necessary site costs, the vast majority of Don’t Be A Pixel’s financial resources goes to paying writers for their published work. Obviously, we’d discuss rates once you’ve been published, but yes, you get published = you get paid for it.
So please, go ahead, make our days, and write a piece and send it in. Put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, and start being the best damn writer you can be.
Again, if you have a piece that you want to send to us, please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
